I am a female who has never had a tattoo before. I am American, 1/4 Sicilian and 1/3 Irish. I am currently living in Italy right now for work, but have always loved researching my Italian heritage. I want a tattoo with "vivid colors and dramatic personae" and if in writing I want Italic calligraphy script. But I know I want something small, something that won't be visible at work, in a professional field. I was thinking either the top of my foot, above/behind my ear, or maybe my chicken wing I want something VERY unique but girly. I have looked online for Sicilian heritage type symbols and most of the stuff I have found is generic and masculine (like the corno, my family crest, my family nickname, etc.) I need help..not even fully committed to getting a tattoo quite yet. I am waiting to hear or find something brilliant and say, "YES! That is it!" This is random but I also love ladybugs and they have a lot of meaning to me so if at all possible I want to incorporate that into it..like maybe on my foot??? I don't know. ANY ideas would be much appreciated. My family is from Patti which is in Messina, Sicily. My great-grandparents lived there then immigrated to America. I am a dual citizen and have american and Italian citizenship. I am also Catholic and thought of maybe getting a cross with the Italian colors in it, but that too is just too generic for my liking. I am looking for something unique, sexy, symbolic, and feminine all wrapped up together |
