aftercare varies by the artist. and you really should only listen to them. when you start to mix the pot with everyone else's opinion you end up doing too much. if they are a good artist they wont mind at all if you call back, in fact they would probably rather you do instead of risking ruining their work.
i just use lorrel original formula lotion for two weeks and try not to get it wet when i shower and i use dove soap. my skin heals really fast and i have never had any problems, usually heals up perfectly in less than 10 days. just make sure you dont pick or itch the area, that is BAD. oh yeah, dont over lotion too, that is a no-no. |

I just got my 3rd tattoo and heres what i do -
For two weeks I wash it 4 times daily and apply Bepanthen cream (coz I'm Australian). First night I don't cover it. I only leave the wrap on for 3 hours after the tatt is done.
So now this one is 7 days old, and its just starting to shed skin (or whatever its called ewwww) and the tattoo looks retarded and 'scratchy', but i know it will all work out in a few days - BUT YOU NEVER STOP THINKING IT WILL TURN OUT CRAP. Then all of a sudden its like a Butterfly
I'm getting my 4th next week - so two babies within a month |

tattoos are so addictive, I think I'm going to be on this current addiction for months, I'll probably keep getting more - 2 a month for the next few months. haha, no, I don't think I will. But its tempting.
But I don't know why I have suddenly taken it up again - it was almost 3 years since my last one, I got one in 2003 then 1 in 2004 - then 1 last week and one next week (so within two weeks!!!). |
