|
|
Got my first tattoo on Thursday. I had met the artist a few times and was recommended by a friend. Nice clean studio, no worries about it.
Getting the tattoo was fine - the biggest discomfort was having to lay on my stomach with my head turned. I didn't bleed and it honestly didn't hurt at all. (Just a bit of a discomfort.)
Now, because it is my first tattoo - I have no idea what it's suppose to look like the first bit after. I've tried looking through Google, but haven't found anything that would help me. I'm not sure if the image is suppose to look muddy.
Anyways, here's a picture of it -

Please tell me if this is normal, or if I've done something wrong.
Edit: For some reason the link wasn't showing, so I put spaces in the URL. |

When you hit reply, the link will show then. what you have there now won't open. So go ahead and repost the pic like you were going to in the first place and we should be able to help you.
In the mean time, just follow the after care instructions the artist gave you to a tea.
Without seeing it I don't know but from you using the word "Muddy" You might be using to much oitment. You just want to apply enough to keep it from drying out. So use a very thin coat 3 or 4 times a day |

Okay, so this forum is not letting me insert the picture. I do it correctly, it shows in the previews, but not when I post.
Anyways, just copy this into a new browser: img61.imageshack.us/img61/5056/scarabsr4.jpg
I've put a thin layer of ointment (polysporin triple action - clear gel with antibiotics) on, but haven't smothered it. The tattoo doesn't burn, it gets itchy every now and then, but other than that, it's fine. |

umm??? not sure if it's the pic or not, but i see a few things i'm not sure about. the grey does look a little soft.. The tattoo is only 2 days old should be a lot brighter and sharper then that.
Might be worth a trip back just to show him/her it and see what they have to say.
Itchy is normal.. remember don't scratch it though!! when it itchs.. slap it I'm not kidding, slaping it will help with the itch withour messing up the healing |

| Thank you. And, that is the image of the tattoo. I may have to give the parlor a call - as I work during their open hours. I would have to wait until Friday to actually see him. Any tips in the mean time? |

Just keep the thin coat of oitment on it and keep it out of the sun.. thats no diffrent then with any tattoo.
Don't worry about it, anything can be fixed |

Thank you again. I just wanted a second opinion. I do like the artist, and he'll do any touch ups free of charge. I'll pop by his parlor on Friday to see what he says. I'll wait until it's fully healed (about a month?) before deciding if anything needs to be done.
Again, thank you - I'll sleep better tonight. |
