In terms of them having proof that the image is not copyrighted, etc.

If I were to bring a print of some picture off someones arm off the net, what do I need to show them?

Thank you.

(sorry for 2 threads ?)

why would you want the same tattoo as some one else ???
Maybe use the general idea and make it your own with some changes to it .

the tattoo im getting next week is from a google image, but ive seen 2 other people with the same phoenix (including one on this site). i'm getting mine in a different place and with writing above and below it... do you still consider that copying? and isn't using a flash copying too, sillies?

I think what everyone is saying is that tattoo's are about your own identity and not about someone elses. If you want that design then so be it. I wouldn't use flash to be honest because I don't want something on my skin that is identical to something someone else has.

Good luck. I don't know of the rules of copyright though I'm afraid, and in my opinion as long as the tat you want is not the same as the one your neighbours grandma's niece's best friends dog has got, you'll be fine Wink

I have used flash ...but as a guide ..i get the artist to alter a few things , make it more of my own .
My big tiger on my leg is a flash , but with tribal added ( i did not know it was a flash till after i went to another shop though , i was actually told by the artist he draw it up especially for me Rolling Eyes Mad )

i dont know if there are any rules about custom tattoos but surely if you are taking an image of a tattoo from google then its not a custom tattoo to you. the tattoo is only a custom design to the first person who has it
