I got my tattoo like 3 weeks ago and only a little bit of it scabbed over and peeled. What can I do to make the rest of it peel? It also looks like the ink is spreading? Help!

Ok,

Don't panic! Too much ointment will only suffocate the tattoo and liquefy any scabs that may have formed causing the ink to fall out and look blotchy. Ointment should be applied whenever the tattoo is feeling stiff or dry.

You should use just enough ontment to barely be able to tell that it's there This is just enough to keep the tattoo moist and to keep it from scabbing (you don't really want it scabbing) remember peeling & scabbing are not the same thing. peeling is like sunburn thats what you want.

But you might not even notice peeling if it's a small peice or done in black or gray.

Individuals heal in so many different ways, it's hard to tell (especially for first-timers) exactly what will happen - whether the tattoo will scab or peel. A tattoo in one spot may heal completely different from a tattoo in another spot. The way an artist works the skin can also make a difference in the way a tattoo heals.

Again, go back and show it to the person you did the tattoo

Okay well my tattoo is black and grey and it's on the inside of my foot. The place is all the way in chicago and it's like an hour and a half away. Is there anything i can do or put on it to make it peel. Beacuse half of the tattoo looks great but the other half you can tell didn't peel.....

It's not a given that a tattoo will peel and don't mean theres something wrong.

It may just need a second going over.. not uncommon in the place yours is, same with the palm of the hand. the palm can take sometimes 3 sessions to hold color!!!.

But just to be on the safe side since it's a long drive, Call the shop and talk to the artist who did it and see what he/she says. They may want to go over it a second time (no charge)

This couldn't be more true.

I just went over a clients elbow for the third time and got the color to stay. The rest of the arm was great the first time around, but the elbow took an extra two sessions. Smile
