I was at the shop yesterday talking to my artist, when I heard one of the other artist tell a customer that she charges a $5.00 drawing fee.
I had never heard of that before. Just wondering, Is this common??

i havn't heard of this either. is it for drawing the picture up beforehand? my artist charges a $20 deposit before they start any work on designs, so if you decide not to go ahead they haven't done all the work for nothing. but that is a new thing as lot of ppl got them to do up designs, then never went back or went elsewhere. the $20 comes off the final cost of the tat though, so you are not technically paying a fee

Our tattooist charges us or should I say he use to chage us. 20% of what the tattoo would cost when you booked in. Our's is just like Torie's, so if you don't turn up at least he still has some money for the hour that he has set aside to do the tattoo. So as calling it a design fee its not a fee it insurance for his pocket which is fair enough. A lot of people book in and never turn up this is the reason behind him doing this. The Tattman.
