Hello, new here, first post etc.....
How you all doing?
Anyway I have 4 tatts and I got my 3rd last July, it's the Chili Peppers logo in red with a bit of tribal with it it. All was fine untill this April when I got my forth tattoo, a treble clef with stars and hearts (I will post pics if anyone interested) well the red in both these tattoos has come up in relief now! And they can be incredibly itchy also the chili logo looks really scaly and not nice.
My 2nd tatt has a little red in it but was done in another studio and that one is fine.
So......(after all that waffling) what's going to happen to the red parts of these 2 tatts?
Is my body really rejecting the ink?
Why did it take so long with the Chili tatt?
How long before all the ink is gone?
When will I be able to get it recoloured?
WILL I be able to get it recoloured?
I will want them in red again but should I take my own ink?
Sorry for all the Q's but when I went back to the studio they just said get some anti inflammitory steroid cream, I wasn't impressed.
Should I be hounding the studio?
Sorry again for waffling.......
hope someone can help me.

That's one of the problems with red tattoo ink. It's really heavy & contains the most pigment of all ink which means some people get what is called red reaction.
Try & treat it with the anti-inflammatory cream, but if it still gives you grief, you may have to have it removed.
I've learned some inks are really bad for red reaction, particularly the Scream brand Ferrari Red (which was recalled last year). If your tattooist made up the ink themselves they may have got the mix wrong.
Anyone can get a reaction from ink, but if you're gonna bring in your own ink ,from what I've learned Eternal brand inks are one of the best to use.
Hope it gets better. |

Thanks
But I couldn't have them removed....I couldn't afford it for one thing!
Has anyone had this "red reaction" on here?
Does it actually get better?
Thanks again |
