Hey gang, well I sat through 4 hours of a rib tattoo yesterday. If it wasn't for the last 45 minutes I would have said it wasn't all that bad. It's a sailor jerry style ocean scene except I replaced the sail boat with my commercial fishing boat. As far as i'm concerned with ribs, they hurt more than the back. Some spots are really rough and some aren't bad at all but like I said if it wasn't for that torturing last 45 minutes I would have said not bad overall. I'm happy as hell with it, the artist did a great, and relatively quick job, I might get some touch ups done in a month but at the moment i'm just recovering. If anyone is considering ribs feel free to ask me some Q's.

well..... post some pics!!!

i went through 2 sessions on my ribs, total 7 hours. didnt hurt as bad as people make it out too be , you just get sore from holding still. did you get anything on your hips? for me the stuff right on the hip bone was by far the worst.

great spot for some ink, love the idea, post pics!!!

Hey guys, I'm letting it heal up for a couple more days then my artist is gonna take some pics for his portfolio so I'll post those in a day or two. And sleewell, I got a little bit done towards my hip bone and it definatley hurt but it was near my stomach away from the bones that was the worst, I could feel it vibrating my stomach and it made me a little queasy.

Well, I'm considering getting my first two tattoos on my ribs. All i hear are bad things, but i think i should be okay.. since one of them has to do with the phrase "you can do anything you put your mind to". We'll see...

i got a piece started on my rib cage three weeks ago. 2 1/2 hrs.
did the second session 1 week ago. another 2 1/2 hrs.
gonna go back saturday to finish up should be about 2 1/2 more hrs.
ill tell you what, any body that says it dont hurt is either lying or crazy.
ive had quite a bit of my body tattooed and the ribs, for me, has been the most painful area so far. i remember laying on the table, feeling like mel gibson at the end of braveheart where they open him up just before he dies, and i was thinking about what i should tattoo on my other side. (sick!) im saying this not to discourage anyone from getting tattooed, im sayin if you feel it that strong dont be afraid to let a little pain deter you.
so any body else got tattooed on your ribs lately?
ill be posting a picture of the finished piece some time over the week end.
your gonna love it. if not so what.
