I recently bought a tattoo kit, but I don't have it yet, anyways I was wondering before I even start tattooing, can anybody give me an idea on how to price my tattoos.

Sigh Sad

Do you have the first idea how to tattoo ?

Do you have the first idea about sterilisation ?

Do you understand air borne and blood borne pathogens and diseases ?

Are you artistically skilled ?

Have you used a tattoo machine before ?

Have i fallen for a wind up or are you serious ?

Instead of pricing tattoos maybe you need a big sign that says all tattoos are done at your responsibility i am not responsible for any diseases contracted, mistakes made or permanent scarring caused by the tattoo.

Do you even have tattoos are you purely trying to make money ?

Burn your kit and get into every tattoo studio and pester people until you get an apprenticeship.

you should come from a school of some sort or pref a apprenticeship for a few years.

Its like me buying some medical supplies and operating on people and animals because i can.

Im sorry Rowdy i clearly didnt think my previous post through. It never really occured to me that the completly untrained and inexperienced could make so much money out of permanent art.

I withdraw everything that i have never said about anything that has no relevance to anything, something or everything in general.

All previous thoughts and comments are not to be ignored as they are clearly not the ramblings of a addled beer infested mind.

Shouldnt have to worry about pricing to much yet. As you learn and gain experiance through other artists it will be answered. By the way when you buy a kit you may want to consider tearing the machine completly down and rebuild it and tune it for yourself. I've never seen a kit machine that runs the way it should for my style. you may be different, but still a good idea to familiarize yourself with a new machine. By the way if the kit didnt come with an autoclave, BUY ONE!

With patiance, desire, and the PROPER equipment all may be possible.

Just dont go out scratchin ppl. It destroys the industry for the rest of us.

well rollin, if you've worked as an artist before and are learning from your friend maybe you should ask that person. perhaps they feel your not ready to work enough to charge.

same here!!!

Sorry to be so blunt Rollin, but it's not a profession you can just go into, you should know what you are worth, you should know the risks already.

OOOhh jeeeez! Now here's an idea...how 'bout you take your nice tattoo kit and make some nice tattoos on your god-given body and put the pics in your gallery and we all will rate them with nice hypocryte comments.

The nerve in this fella. And under that "stoned" says Tattoo lover.. That's what you probably are,and only that. go and have fun with permanent art on your own body
