Hey all,

I have a tattoo that I would like to have removed and am trying to figure out the best possible way to go about doing so. I have some questions I am hoping someone can answer.

I should probably note that my tattoo is one colour (black), and probably about 6-8 inches long by 2-3 inches wide, although the design itself is mostly an outline and in fact a small portion of that total area is actually inked. The tattoo is roughly 5 years old now. (wow, I cannot believe it's been that long)

Nuviderm - Can anyone comment on using this? How far apart to you space out the treatments? How quickly did you see results? My tattoo is between my shoulder blades, will I need someone to help apply this for me? (I would really like to be able to do this on my own). I am considering this as a prep to laser removal but have not heard many testimonials.

Can anyone recommend a good Laser Removal facility within Toronto? Doing a quick search, I found:

the Baywood Clinic in Downtown Toronto

Toronto Cosmetic Clinic -

Gidon Aesthetics and Medi-Spa -

If anyone has experience with the above clinics or can recommend someplace different I would really appreciate you sharing.

Additionally I understand laser removal requires multiple treatments. Any tips on excuses I can make to take time off work to have these treatments done? Nobody at my job knows about my tattoo and I would like to keep it that way. I only took 3 sick days last year and am hoping I can have this done under the radar without raising too many eyebrows.

I know this is a tonne of very specific questions and I certainly don't expect them all to be answered, but ANY feedback you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much

Multiple laser treatments is whats going to get rid of it and tell your employer that you have doctors appointments.

Thanks for the reply, Gary.

I did check out rethinkyourink.ca and it seems like a great clinic, but I just can't justify flying to Alberta to have a tattoo removed.

Anyone have any experiences with laser clinics in Toronto, or comments on Nuviderm + laser removal?

Hey,

I got my tattoo removed at Toronto Cosmetic Clinic. It was a pretty good experience overall, although sometimes it stung a little during the procedure. I had a little heart removed from my lower back. It took 4 sessions.

I liked it there because the staff was really friendly and they knew what they were doing. Plus, I got some great tips for skincare from the woman who did the procedure.

Their website is tcclinic.com
I suggest you book your appointments all at once, instead of waiting for the last minute. The schedule gets booked up fairly quickly, but they can squeeze you in soemtimes.

I think Toronto Cosmetic Clinic is the best choice, considering that before undergoing the laser tattoo removal procedure, you will be asked to visit their patient consultant for a complimentary consultation to determine whether laser tattoo removal will be effective for your situation. Like this you can see with your own eyes whether you like the place an the people in there. Check out their link on the subject:

Hi

baywoodclinic.com is all you need to know!

In Toronto the best clinic for tattoo removal is the Baywood Clinic without any question. First of all you meet a licensed physician, who does the consultation, and personally performs all your treatments. That is the NOT case at some of these "medi-spas" mentioned, where you never meet a doctor.

And because it is actually a doc doing it, he freezes me with a local anesthetic, so there is NO pain, not like that cream stuff (emla?) they use at these other places.

They have the Yag, which everyone has but also a Q-switch Alex, which really speeds up treatment, and is the only one in town. I went to several clinics and the hospital, and Baywood impressed me so much I went ahead and booked right away!

Best of all the doctor actually talked me down! I wanted to do three tattoos but he insisted I try a small one first to make sure i Liked it. No upselling and pushing other stuff on me. (Though I ended up doing laser hair removal and Botox later) and brought my sister for breast implants!

The prices were way less than the hospital and several other clincs, some of the spas had "packages" and specials, but I have such faith in the doctors, last thing I wanted was a scar, or dragged out sessions!

Why go to a place that doesn't know how to tattoo in the first place? I would recommend my mom (Dorothy) at Permanent Make-up Artistry. She has been tattooing people for 17 years, so she knows the inns and outs of tattooing and pigments. She offers laser tattoo removal services and, for those who need it, she can also touch-up areas using tattooing with skin-coloured pigment inks!

Call PMA at: 416-972-7636. Tell them Vasselle sent you and just just may get a good discount!

I would suggest Fading Fast Laser Tattoo Removal. Take a look at their website They are located in Toronto & Newmarket and are quite reasonable. They have convenient hours including evenings & weekends.

not sure about the clinics in your area but make sure they are using either the medlite c6 or the infinity qs machines, the only two on the market that are worth getting treatments with. you shold not have to miss any work either, this is an out patient procedure that can be done on a lunch break for most.

thanks

Fading Fast uses the Affinity Q-switch Yag laser. They also have a cooler which assists in reducing pain and damage to the area.
They offer free consultations and review the procedure and answer any questions you have so you are well informed before getting it done.
I presonally recommend them.

tattoo removal toronto

I did a lot of research. I went to the laser clinic at sunnybrook hospital and checked out the machines. I realize that laser is serious business and the last thing I wanted was a scar, like someone I know who went to a "laser clinic" I won't mention and has a nice toonie size one on her shoulder now.

Finally I asked my own artist, who is quite well know in town, big shop on Queen, and he told me he sees lots of problems form many of these clinics. He refers all his clients to the Baywood Clinic (baywoodclinic.com), and most of his artist buds do to. And he then does cover ups on some, and has never had a problem with the docs there.

I went to see them. The Doctor was super, funny, and really honest about my tattoo. He showed me the various systems they have, one was like the hospital, another a Qswitch alex. He told me that you need at least 2 if not 3 systems to remove most tattoos as fast as possible, becasue of the varieties of color in the ink. He personally has done 10,000 plus cases!

Also he was very reasonable about the fee, doing a second tattoo for a lot less ( i had two, with 4 - 5 colors), and "downcharging" me cause my tatto was not totally filled in. A lot less than i expected.

He was straight up about the length of time, side effects, etc etc, and even called me personally when I had a question the day after my first treatment. The cost was 40% less than the Hospital.

Best of all he used a local anesthetic so that I really felt nothing. Only docs can inject local. That alone was worth it.

I think if you are seriously thinking about removing a tattoo it has to be done right the first time. They must be doing something right, becasue the waiting room is packed and the 3 -4 other tattoo patients I have talked to were all really, really happy. One guy did 14 (!!!) sessions elsewhere and was told the tatoo was resistant, less than 50% gone. But now in 3 sessions with the alex it is almost gone, it had some blue, green and yellow in it.

I am on my second session, have seen results better than I hoped, and feel really comfortable. I recommend Baywood, but will post later, maybe after 5 or 6 th session. But do visit them for sure before you decide, it is really worth it!

Hi Bigdog,

I have read your last post. Can you give me an update about how your other sessions went and are you happy with the result. Would it be possible for you to upload pics of before and after. I would love to see what kind of a job they did and what did it cost you?

Let me know,
I need to have my tattoo removed.
Thanks,
Nat
