I currently have a half sleeve from a local shop. They did a good job and hit quote to see the link to my picture. I now want to start working on a japanese full sleeve and in Buffalo NY which is about an hour and half away from me there is an awesome shop that does amazing japanese art. I have been talkin to the guy for a few months and last month he said he would start on my drawing. A month has gone by and classes have started back at college and still I havnt heard anything from him. I sent him a message saying I am saving my student refund for his work and still has not responded to me. here is a link to basically what I want I am not sure of the shop that I have been going to is talented enough to do what I want. I am willing to drive almost 2 hours to get tattooed form this guy and he is just ignoring me and I am getting sick of it! I want to get this sleeve started so bad I am tempted to go to the shop that I have been going to but I am not sure if they can do what I want and I am sure they will say they can if I ask because they want the money. Sorry for such a long post but I needed to vent! Just a quick ??? tho, based on my current tattoo do you think the shop I went to would be able to do the tattoo I want? Thanks

hi Nike
I have had the sme trouble when a tattooist did half of my tattoo and never got back to me.
It took me about 20 or 30 attempts to contact him and all i got was abuse.
So i just never replied back to him no more.
So what i did i shoped around to get someone to finnsh it and i did.
He was great and been going back there since.
In my opinion Nike go somewhere else and its worth all the trouble. Smile

Nike,

I used to travel a lot for work and found someone in Los Angeles which I thought I'd really like to do a tattoo for me (I live in OK). So, I arranged this one one of my trips. He did most of the tattoo, but I got to turning too red so he didn't finish it. This was fine, as I was in CA about 4X a year and would come back.

Four different trips I contacted him (over a month or two in advance) and let him know I'd be in town. Each time I gave him my schedule, which was VERY flexible with LOTS of times I could come in. Each time he said he couldn't work me in. I was very disappointed.

I waited a couple of years and finally started looking into people to finish and add on to this tattoo. I'm SO glad I did! I found an artist that I absolutely love and who does much better work than the original guy - and who responds to me and can always seem to work out a time to get me in. He's a very busy artist, but he cares about his clients, and it shows. Because of his great skill - both with tattoos and people, I've referred quite a bit of business his way.

My advice to you is to look around and find someone else who's really good - but someone who also values his/her customers. Believe me, it's worth it getting a tattoo from someone who wants to do it - and I believe it shows in their work (especially since you are talking about a long process by doing a whole sleeve).

hey mommabird, your right about a sleeve being a long process and I figured that the artist I was talking with would be excited because the money I would be spending on it. I just figured when the guy knew that I was willing to drive almost 2 hours for his work he would try to work with me a little more...O well I guess. And the artist, I am taking yor advice and am going somewhere else. Thanks man for opening my eyes. I have the girl at the studio I have been going to drawing out my sleeve and depending on how the drawing comes out I just might stick with the place I have known and trust. Thanks for the replies Very Happy
