Hey guys! I have 6 tats 3 of them came from the same place. I have large pieces so I know how to take care of it. I went to get another one a week and 2 days ago. For some reason the more he put color in the more it would bleed out. It took a very long time, two stop sessions and alot of blood and pain. He went over the whole tat 4 + time because he couldnt get the color to stay in. Like I said I have HUGE pieces and have never had any issues. Now I know different parts of the body are different so a tatoo can react differently depending on the area. Well, after going though A LOT of pain i finally had to tell him over and over I couldnt take anymore. It looked like ***** but I was going to go back and have it finished. SO I didnt care. I just couldnt take any more pain. Well I did what he told me to do and it became EXTREMELY infected. It is extremely painful and burns so bad. There are areas where the skin blew up like blisters, they popped and now where my skin it is sunk in. It looks like the frog was run over. I contacted "my friend" , who owns the business) and expalined to him that I wanted him to fix it. Made a joke about getting my money back to his wife not intending on that, just wanted to get my tattoo corrected and to let him know of the infection. I would want to know if I was the tattoo artist. He said for me to come over when it heals. I spoke with the doctor and we didnt do the MRSA test because he would have to report it to the CDC. I didnt want to cause any issues, I just wanted the pain to stop so I am taking meds to stop the infection. Well now the guy is pissed off and wont fix it or give me my money back or even talk to me. He deleted me from his myspace page so I cant even email him. Am I really a bad person for telling him that it is infected and possible has MRSA so that you can let your guy know so he can do some extra cleaning so something. Well now I have lost a friend over a tattoo. Did he have every right to delete me for this? We have known each other for almost 5 years. I have always promoted him. Told people to go see him. Now I have a screwed up tattoo that I cant get fixed. Just want to know what you guys think.

I was being very nice about it. I tried to contact him. Even text him several times. Things happen!!! THats part of life.
But when things happen and they go wrong you fix them!

Just to clarify, the girl that went with me NEVER got a tattoo and there was NO ONE in that shop when we left. We were there for over 2 hours. Oh The tattoo busted open last night and started bleeding from the eye.

God forbid if his perfect record is ruined.

hey beck first of all im not mad, altough i am extremely disappointed that you would actually say that you got some type of infection at one of my shops !!!.so let me start by saying this. the person you came with that also got a tattoo did not get anything the people before you or the peaople after you..infact the five years we been in business no one never ever came back and said that hey got anything from our shop..its almost un heard of that any one will catch anything from a tattoo shop unless you take a needle from one person in stick it rite into the next..so i really dont know what this is all about becky but you do what you have to .get a test ,see 3 doctors i really dont care at this point but you never even said what your doctor said it may be!!so im kind of un easy bout you even having anything wrong..there is no way you got anything from our shop!! and by giving you the money back is saying that you did.and i know for a fact that all our spore tests come back negative every month..so report it or do what you have to..but please dont have any more contact with me after this i feel like you are really trying to scam me!! infact alot of people seem to think they can take advantage of me cause im a nice guy and i own a business!!..i will say nothing more about this..[/b]

get a test done, he obviously doesnt want any more contact with you..

as for going over and over, he may have gone too deep, .

maybe you have keloid scaring or something..wait for it to heal and keep taking the tablets and see what happens..

good luck..

A keloid is a type of scar which results in an overgrowth of tissue at the site of a healed skin injury. Keloids are firm, rubbery lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules, and can vary from pink to flesh-colored or red to dark brown in color. A keloid scar is benign, non-contagious, and usually accompanied by severe itchiness, sharp pains, and changes in texture. In severe cases, it can affect movement of skin. Keloids should not be confused with hypertrophic scars, which are raised scars that do not grow beyond the boundaries of the original wound and may reduce over time.

infection typically occurs in a tattoo for two reasons:

the tattoo artist goes over the same area too many times. the more you go over a specific area, the more prone it is to infection because, well, it is an open wound , and we all know more severe wounds need more care

this is why i personally do not like color tattoos, because they can be tricky to take care of and if the artist does not know what he's doing, he'll lay the color in such a way that it looks like ***** even AFTER he's gone over it many times. - that shouldn't happen.

the other reason a tattoo may get infected is, well, your fault. you didn't wash it enough , or did not apply proper agents. personally , i use lubriderm moisturizer on my tattoos , as well i suggest that to my clients for aftercare.

many folks recommend a&d ointment - this is a risky choice for the first three days however, as the skin cannot breathe - and you risk your tattoo sweating out ink . - but it is a good idea to use this when you start to see light scabbing as it will help the scabs heal faster.

and you probably should never go back to an artist after your tattoo developed blisters ... dear god.

Yeah he went over the whole 4 times, the eyes and legs were more than that. I begged him to stop it was so raw. It's almost healed completely. Im kist glad the pain stopped. LOL I went to another place to have them look at it and they said he went to deep and to long. It can be saved but we are waiting to make sure the skin is healthy. Thank you for your post. Well the least I can say is I learned a huge lesson. Expensive and painful lesson. LOL

Hi reccies
Its gone to deep alright, usually tattooists shouldnt have too tattoo the same area that many times.
As you say you asked him to stop. Surprised
The tattooist must stop in the tattoo industry as i dont know if its the law? Mad
I have always had no problem asking to stop if i feel its hurting or need a break as the tattooist has always said to me "if you want me to stop tell me"
Id contact the tattooist that did your tattoo and have your say?

And thanks for explaining the keloid scar info.
