First off, i believe in getting a tattoo that has a strong meaning behind it, i have 1 already, a cross i designed that is on my left arm. Im a christian, which is why i want something to represent my faith. My idea is to get a hand on my high on right shoulder-blade, to represent God being with me, as if he's walking beside me with his hand on my back, guiding me along. Im debating if i want to have it with the stake hole in the wrist or not. My plan is to get my dad to model the position and size i want, for the tattoo artist. It will be placed the same way your hand would be if you were kind of, guiding someone along. Its hard to explain, i have a good image in my mind of what i want lol. I need some ideas of how to refine this idea, how far down should it fade out, what would look good, that kinda thing. Should there be some kind of "glow" behind the hand, or would that look silly? And yes, i am going to talk to my artist about all this before i agree on anything, i just want to have a good plan to go in with. Thanks

If you decide to go with the hand, be sure to REALLY check out your artist. If at all possible find one that has done hands in the past and has them in his/her portfolio. I've heard artists say that hands can be harder than faces to do and are one of the toughest things for them to do and look right, so I'd be sure you find someone that has done some and that you like the way they look...
