I am tattooing "God" and "Family" in Irish-Gaelic on the underside of each of my forearms, and I wanted to make it a half sleeve going from elbow to wrist...I want to illustrate it with Irish artwork...any good ideas on what the artwork could be, or any suggestions?

Personally I think the hound of Cuchulainn (theres a pic here ...first one ) would make a pretty cool half sleeve...but I also like the claddagh and Im getting the wheel headed celtic cross myself...hope this helps

And good luck with it

I just very recently started tattooing, after being an artist for most of my life. As an artist (not a tattooist) one of the more recent styles I studied was celtic knotwork, in preperation for a painting I made for my wife last year.

The great part about knotwork is that it is very easy to learn to do properly, and there are tons of good resources on the web. If you google "celtic knotwork" the first 4 or 5 hits are incredible! They go over the basic knots, the meanings behind them, and even offer wonderful tutorials in plain english on how to draw some very nice designs. In addition knots translate very well to tattoos, a decent tattoo artist should be able to work with you to make your design really work. And sketching a few ideas before you go in will make the process faster and much more personal.

Good luck to you I hope this is helpfull.[/url]
