How much does a tattoo hurt? iwant ot get my first one in the next week or so, but I just want to be prepared.

they are all absolutely excruciating but it depends how much you pay. cheap tattoos are much more painful and weirdly enough they hurt more on a tuesday.

haha...wanna get one (my first) on my inner forearm. Its going to be a 9-11 tribute. So I think I might be able to take the pain

ok, here you go then - a serious answer.

tattoos don't hurt anywhere near as much as you think they are going to... but then again, i've never had any done over bone.

It honestly depends on your pain tolerance...all people are different

I dont think they hurt at all and Ive had them done on my ankle bone and rib cage (Im fairly skinny)

To me piercings and tattoos dont hurt but when I want them I go into them thinking that Im finally gettin something done that Ive worked on and am moe excited then thinking about pain...

But I have had people pass out on me while I was giving them a tattoo so it all depends

ok, thanks. Its on the arm so I don't think that the pain will be that bad.

it is a bit stingy on the inner arm..but if its something you want, then you will learn to love the pain...
drink plenty of fluids and have a hearty breakfast before going in...
take a mars bar if you feel you need a glucose rush...and a can of coke...

It will really really hurt so dont do it. now down to important matters. Blam i will get 20 doz oatcakes for starters and your beer. i dont drink so you can have it all. Chic all you need to bring is yourself.

rowdy, i'm a bit concerned you're talking to me here and not chic.... Confused

i hardly drink myself these days so if the ladies insist on coming along we can make them drink the beer. if they even think of touching the oatcakes though there'll be trouble.

dr. doom. don't get annoyed mate. we get this question a lot and you seem to have caught rowdy in a silly mood (the only mood he has to be honest). i have no idea what your pain threshold is like but you have absolutely nothing to worry about. anywhere on your arm is going to be fine. i had my first tat on my inner bicep - some people told me it would hurt loads but it was no problem at all. after a couple of hours the feeling is more annoying than painful. i guarantee that as soon as it is over you'll be thinking about your next one and the pain will never be an issue again.

Sorry dr Doom i lost the plot for a while there. Did you say bicep or forearm?. Dont you worry about your forearm, It will be a scratching feeling at first and it will be a bit painfull. After about 10,mins it will start to burn just like sunburn does but the worst thing you can do is panic.
My best advice is eat before you go in and also take some chocolate and pop it really does help. Also take some music and earphones you can really pump yourself up with it. Lastly mate its ok to be scared most of us are if were honest tell yourself over and over that this wont last long and afterwards you'll be one more of us and one less of those strange people who dont have tattoo,s. Hope this helps a little.
