| I hate that expression. I think lower back tattoos on women are very sexy and really hate the fact that some one pinned that term to it |

I agree, Ed! I think tattoos in that area really can acentuate a woman's great curves.
I was talking with my artist about this very thing recently ... he agreed that it's a shame that it's got that nickname, as he also thinks they are very sexy - he had the funniest thing to say about it, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was If it comes to me I'll post it...ha! |

i have no problem with women with tattoos anywhere... i love 'em. as far as i'm aware though, the 'tramp stamp' thing comes from loads of women having pretty much the same tattoo in pretty much the same place. a fashion accessory as much as an ear piercing or this season's must have necklace. its the same in my opinion, as the scores of guys i see with pretty much the same generic tribal tattoo in pretty much the same place and the same size, and everyone all gets them at the same time.
i'm a real fan of originality and personal expression in tattoos and not a fan of just getting something because its the fashion to do so. each to his or her own though, of course. |

haha- i think the tramp stamp label is hilarious- I've also heard 'tart mark'.
but seriously, it doesn't bother me as a girl and i have a lower back tattoo, along with seven others- shoulder, upper arm, wrist, butt, inner thigh, ankle and foot. I think it's just a way of poking fun at the girls who get tattoos as a 'fashion statement' and don't really think the process through. |

I hate this term and I have had arguments with people over its term being used. My wife doesn't have a tattoo there. But I think its so down grading to all those who do have one there.
I think the term came from insucure people who don't have any brains. |

What if you were a gay man and your partner had a lower back tattoo?. What would you call it then.? I dont mind the word stamp but hate the word tramp. it implies every woman with one is easy and is every woman without one a virgin?????? |

I agree with you...tattoos shouldnt be all the same or fashion statements...Im actually very proud of mine...I have yet to see another person with the same concept let alone the same tattoo
~Its a claddagh(sp) heart with thorns wrapped around it...wings instead of hands and flames coming from the crown with a very light heartagram at the bottom(almost like a watermark image)...one of the only colored tattoos I have ~ |
