I got my very first tattoo yesterday afternoon. I took the bandage off earlier today and it looks great!
I have a question tho... My daughter poked it and her hands had food on them. I washed it about 5 minutes afterward, but I'm still afraid that an infection will develop. Do you think it will be ok?

Well, now I have a completely new problem... I scraped it on my bed frame... The scab came off of one of my leaves completely, but it's still deep green. It's bleeding a lil bit, but not much. The bottom of one of the cherries is bleeding, but the scab didn't come completely off... Do you think it'll be ok??? Or will I have to have it touched up???
I couldn't figure out how to post pics on here... And when I tried to upload one, it was too big and I can't resize it... GAH!! |

It should be okay, just continue with the aftercare that your artist gave you. Since it took off the scab and is bleeding, it might have pulled/or might push a little bit of the color out, but probably is fine. If it does lose some color, then return to the artist that did it and they should be able to fix you up. (after it's completely healed).
As far as posting pics, if you look at the very top section of the forum, there is a tutorial in one of the topics listed there.
Good luck - and be careful...ha! |

lol,.....the part about the finger with food touching it made me laugh a little.........
while most artists HAVE to be anal about cross contamination and universal precautions,............I think you'll be fine.
An artist deals with the risks on a daily basis,..so we have to stay vigilant about safety.
but keep in mind,....we're more concerned about communicable disease than a common little dirt infection
something else to realize is that the wound is very shallow,.....and it's not at all uncommon to injur yourself to a much deeper level,...by just doing everyday simple chores. Put a little anitibiotic ointment on it,..and you'll probably be just fine
in the tattoo community we stress about infection so much...I think we make people a little paranoid,.....but just use some common sense,....how many times did you have a scraped knee as a kid ,..that went a heck of a lot deeper than a tat |
