I'm getting my first tattoo and I'm a huge pussy. I faint everytime I get a shot at the doctors and get dizzy at the sight of blood...
As part of my family's long running tradition I must get the family crest on my left pec. Someone mentioned to me that this cream would help redude the pain. I'm looking for any tips on how to get through it...

i was 18 when I got my first and felt the same way. It is scary- but it really doesn't hurt that much.
I would go and try it, and if you really can't take the pain then ask to come back and finish it at a later time when you've used EMLA/ numbing cream. But if you try it, chances are you'll realise it's not as bad as you think -you'll get through it and the rush of elation you get after having a tattoo is worth the pain ten times over. |

| It's not as bad as you think. The pain is unique. As soon as your artist takes the gun off of you, you wont feel anything. They'll most likely stop every 5 sec or so to wipe the excess ink, so it's pain in short bursts. You'll be able to handle it, no worries. I can get tattoos done, but i hate needles myself. |

The pain is different for everyone. Also where you place your tattoo has a lot to do with the amount of pain as well.
Where are you getting your new tattoo and how large/detailed is it going to be? That will make a lot of difference in the pain department. |

It'll be an octopus on my chest up by my left shoulder. Pretty big and a lot of detail. |

Honestly to me it felt like nothing more then a bee sting and i barely bled....but I have had people faint on me while I was tattooing them it all depends on your level of pain tolerance
Good Luck With It |
