Hello everyone,

I don't have any tattoos, however I'm planning on getting one very shortly as I have endured a loss of a very close friend.
He was killed (stabbed) 7 months ago. I would like to get a tattoo in his memory on the right side of my chest. I've known him for about a year, however in that short period of time he became like a brother to me that I never had.

I would appreciate it if anyone can give me any ideas for a tattoo that symbolizes a loss of a very close friend- symbolizing that he was killed. I'm aware of the teardrop tattoo meaning, however I cannot get it due to the environment I live in.

I would greatly appreciate any replies as this is a very serious matter to me.

i dont know much about tear drops, but arent they a gang thing?

Were there things that you both really liked to do together? Or perhaps an "inside joke"? Or nick-names, etc? Just wondering if there is something that would mean something to you that would remind you of him, without having it actually "look" like a memorial tattoo. I've seen some really neat ones done out of hobbies/common interests...
