So many questions... I have been tattooing 2 yrs, with some help, but my help is self taught ,and doesnt have answers to many of my questions. My children are 1st priority so an apprenticship is hard to find around Mommy time...
My question is ... If my gun is running too fast, How does this affect the tattoo? I had a tattoo look good when I was finished but as it healed it pushed the majority of the ink out. Not an allergic reaction, not just on color, all of them.
Anyone that could help please do. This is the only site I have found with such friendly members Very Happy

make sure the spring gap is set correctly

outline=thickess of a dime
shading= thickness of a nickel

also,....turn the voltage down under 9vdc.

and you might slow your hand down too,......trying to run a line too fast with a cheaper machine will do that too.

having the voltgage higher will affect the throw of the needle meaning it will drive it harder into the skin and possible deeper entering the fatty tissue, when lining adjust your dial till its at a nice steady purr not so it stutters but not so it sounds like it will take off, other board members idea of this may vary but its just advice I've had from a number of people and has worked for me.

Hey there!
Did u check your needle depth? They say about a dime gap for lining and just under a nickel for shade. Needle should just stick out of the tip a hair, and when u push the armature bar down it should be about a sixteenth of an inch out of the end. apprx
Also what kind of a power supply are you running? You might have the volts too high. DO you find that the PS is running really hot?
Listen to your machine when it runs it shouldnt be too high pitch or low, it should have a loud even sound. You'll be able to feel it on the skin, when u pull the skin tight and start, u can like feel it thru the gun. If that makes any sense. You'll know what i mean when u have more practise.

I hope i have been of some help! Good luck to u.
