| So Im thinking of getting my Septum pierced. I'm pretty sure its gonna hurt alot, but its one of the facial piercings that I can hide quite well. Does anyone else have their pierced? |

I know a guy who had his done, apparently it makes ur eyes water a lot! He had tears streaming down his face because it's so sensitive! haha!
And you can easily hide it because u can either put a bar through it which u can't see at all or if u have the horse shoe shaped hoop put through then you can just make it point up ur nostrils so it hides it aswell haha! My fiend did it to hide it from his parents! |

OWWWW!!! I'm not even going near my nose again!!! Got the side peirced and that was enough, lord it hurt, I had it done with a gun which now I hear you are not suppose to do(i had it done like 5 years ago), It healed up good though. I thought it was cool, cause I live in a small town and everyone looked at me like I had a bugger sticking out of my nose, now everyone has one it's not such a shocker!!! |

I had my septum done when I was 18 (that was some time ago) and I loved it! And yes it's easy to hide for job interviews and stuff.
I don't remember it hurting a LOT, but i remember that I was so scared of it hurting that I held my breath when it was being done.... result... when I let my breath out in a rush after the needle was through I blew out the needle! the guy had to search for the hole to put the jewlery in and that did hurt!
I say go for it! I took mine out about 2 years later and I really miss it. |

| We had a guy that has had is ears guaged, his nether region pierced and tattoos galore. He got his septum pierced and it was the first time I ever heard him in pain. He actually removed it because of it always being seen so I don't get the easily hidden thing. |

| When I got mine done I dont think it hurt that much, but everyones pain tolerance is different. Personally none of the ones I have hurt until afterwards when the healing started. But I dont see how they can be hidden easily, when your suppost to keep them in until the healing process is complete. |

| To hide them you get small enough jewlery to tuck up into your nostrils, usually a "horse shoe" shaped earring. |

I've pierced a few septums, and yea, it does make their eyes water and sometimes jump but then they are okay... they did say it didn't hurt too bad... tho my dumb ex-roommie took to stretching his from 14 to 12, to 8, then to 6 but then went back to eight. (didn't pierce his tho)
I have experienced a nostril piercing for the experience, and it makes your eyes water... so I am sure it's about the same feeling, tho you have to make the decision whether you are going to pierce thru the cartilage or under it... most ppl do it to where the piercing is under the cartilage and never had any complaints... I am sure that the piercing thru the cartilage is a little longer to heal. |

I got my nose pierced on Saturday and my eyes watered like crazy. I dont know if I would get my septum pierced by my piercer because she likes to go slow and it might hurt more the way she does it.
I know a lot of people who stretch their septums, quite a few up to 8 or 9mm. |
