After you fill in the tattoo and after a few days it fades you see areas that need work how long should i wait before i can go back and do touch ups? I was estimating 2 weeks to allow the tissue to heal but should it be longer or is that an efficient amount of time. It looks great and is a large tribal so i want to makes sure it turns out perfect. Any advice would greatly appreciated thanks.

I've seen this answer vary depending on the artist. I know of people that went back as early as 2 weeks. My artist has you to wait a minimum of 3 weeks. I've heard some artists having people wait up to 6 weeks.
The main thing is to be sure the area is completely healed before attempting to do any work over the same areas. My advice would be to contact the artist that did the original work and see what he/she suggests.
(Also, I wanted to mention that while it's going through the peeling stage, it will have areas that look different - lighter or faded - and the color can appear to vary due to the dead skin loosening and coming off.) |

just wait a couple of months to be on the safe side as its such an unbearable pain working on it again if not fully healed, try lightly scrathing it with your finger nail if it feels the same as a nont tattooed area of skin then id go over it again if it stings then its not healed.

You should wait two weeks between sessions. I like to wait three. But if you're going in for a touch up you really won't know for about a month if it needs it.

Here I really think its an individual thing as we all heal at different rates. And I have noticed that as I get older it takes more time to heal. So i know 2 weeks would be right out for me, but 6 weeks milesd too long.
