So i'm torn with how to start this half-sleeve process.
Do I find one large image and try to design around it or do I get a few smaller images and try and pull them together? Or is it just preference?
Anyone help.... |

I have had a cover over done and it has left me wanting to make it into a half sleeve. As at the moment it looks really good but there is just a little something missing.
So I'm going to trace mine out and then look to see what I need to make it into a half sleeve.
So I think I will have my main tattoo as the focal point with a background of a sunset or waterfall.
I will take it into my tattooist and see what he say is the better one to do, as I dont want the main to be taken over.
Don't know if this has helped though. |

I know how that feels!! I have a gremlin face (that I hate) on my upper left arm (drunken morning at the beach on my 21st) but I don't want to cover him because he's there to remind me that I'm not always as smart as I like to think and I DO make mistakes!! But I do hate him all the same. Have spent the last 6, nearly 7, years trying to come up with a half sleeve design he'd fit into without success, especially as I don't really do colour tats...I'm a b&w girl! (It works well on my skin cos it's so pale).
Personally, I'd go with the smaller images and pull them together but that's just what would work for me...on my right arm I might then go for a big design all in one.
I guess it is a personal thing, you know in your heart what's going to work for you! Maybe have the person who's doing the work for you do a temp design till you see what you're happiest with? |

| The best idea is to go with a theme. This way you can mix and match many different images in a like theme then the filler is easier. |
