Im a white 22 year old male and and my last name, White, tatood on my left forearm. Here are my questions.
1) If you didnt know my last name what is the first thing you would think?
2) If you didnt know my last name would you think i was racist.
* WHITE is written in old english, and spaced an inch apart.
* Also any ideas to blend WHITE in with some design, so if you looked at the tattoo you wouldnt know what it said at first? |

Hi mate. I see where you are coming from. I dont think it's racist at all. I have lost count, The amount of old english last name tatts i have done over the years. Unfortunately, this day and age, Some people obviously see it differently, and stereotype you straight away. Sucks man.
Pisses me off actually! Because i am a tattooist. some people label you as a biker, a drug taker, troublemaker etc. I am none of these, I know that. And thats all that matters chap!
Hold your head high mate! Wear that last name with pride!!!
Dont change your tattoo to please others i say. |

I see it the same way. I know a guy whos last name is also White and he got his last name on his back, and he does get the odd question, but once he says its his last name then they realize it.
You'll probably get some looks about it, but most tattoos do. I'd say if you want it get it! You know its not racist |

i wouldnt think your racist, because in my experience, i bet the majority of names down ppls forearms, are their last names. and like everyone has said, so long as your happy with it, dont worry about it, so long as you know its not aimed at different cultures then i wouldnt worry about it mate tattoos can have a meaning rather than having them as display purposes, and thats what alot of people have got to realise (the people who dont have tattoos that is)...
be proud of your tattoo mate, its gona b there for a very long time |

The racist would be the person who judges you based on your tattoo before knowing anything about you.
I wouldn't change a thing to please others. |

| The first thing I would think would be that this was your last name. So I'm of the opinion of the others on this one to. |
