Hey everybody. New to the forum and decided I wanted to get opinions on the tattoo I would like to get at the end of the month. This will be my first tattoo, and its been something Ive been thinking about for awhile, so its not like its a spontaneous decision.

Im a anima lover, and specifically horses. As you can tell from my name, I do competitive carriage driving and have my own horse. My horse is my life, my everything. I love him sooo much and hes been through some of the worst times in my life with me, and will remain with me for a long time. I have said that my first tattoo, and if I ever got one, would be of my horses name. My horses name is Nolan One. I was thinking long and hard about where, what, and how I would want his name put on me.

In the horse world, leather bracelets with name plates with your horses name carved into it are very popular. I have one that I never take off. Well, I thought it would be interesting to get that tattooed onto my wrist (just the plate). But, is that very painful? Would I have to get it black and not the brass like look to it? I dont want anything big or too fancy, just simple and to the point.

Anyone Ive told has said I would regret getting it on my wrist (top of my wrist), and maybe I should get it on my ankle, but I dont really like that idea...

So, with the questions above also, does anyone have any ideas of what I could do?

^^ That is the bracelet. I would have it up higher and on the top of my wrist..

The wrist is a bit more painful but not unbearable. All I would say here is that being on your wrist is in view of everyone always so it is the first thing many people will look at first before seeing you. I only say this because of the opinion of a lot of people about tattoos. Yes they are closed minded people but unfortunately may be one of the people interviewing you for a job some day.

My wife just got a flora design on her wrist and its about an inch above her wrist. She said it hurt just a little. And I have to say it looks really good. So to me if it was me I would go there. And about jobs all you have to wear is long sleeves to cover it over all the time a small price to pay for something you love soo much. All the best I hope you finally do go out and get it. So keep us posted.

You should be ok. Everybody has different levels of pain tolerance to others...70% of my clientele are female, and in my opinion, The ladies can take abit more than the guys! Wink

Thanks everybody! The people Ive talked to so far who have tattoos on their wrists say the same thing, its not that bad. They've said its started to hurt alittle more closer to the bone.

Ed Sr, Like you said, being on the wrist everyone is going to see it. Thats something Im taking into great consideration and of course had everyone say to me "Its so exposed." I know Ill never regret getting the tattoo because it has so much meaning, but, the spot I get it in may be a problem...

Now I just have to decide how I want it!
