How old were you when you got your first tattoo? I am now 24 and concidering my first tattoo. Just curious what the average age is these days?

I was sixteen and my mom was kind enough to sign for me to get my first tattoo. It was a really cool expierence and I love it to this day and I am now 22.

I got my first tattoo when i was of sixteen years of age and it was of a scorpion on my right shoulder and i still enjoy looking at it. Though my next tattoo was of a butterfly in my ankle still my first tattoo still thrills me.

I got my first tattoo the day that I turned 18 it is of a baby tiger! It is really done in an artful way and is super cute. I love that the artist put part of the tigers tongue out so it looks like he is licking his lips.

got my first when i was 20 and this is the one i dislike.
my second was at 22 following the death of my father
my third was arround 30.

im now looking to cover-up the first one at 38.

hey guys,

i was 16 when i had my first tattoo done, 3 stars on my shoulder. I really like this tattoo and a later got stars on my foot, not long after that i got a cross on the back of my neck. I am only 19 years old now...

Does anyone think i got too many done too soon...?

Parents signed for me, and I was 16. It is a sun on the top of my foot, and I still love it today!!!

HI,
I was 18. Had it done only a couple of weeks after my birthday, as soon as it was legal really lol! It's a small tribal rose on my left upper arm. Still love it!

I believe I was 20, and it was my fraternity letters (with flames coming off them) when I was in college. The guy was a budding tattoo artist and gave me a great deal on the tattoo. He did a decent job, but didn't really tell me how to take care of it, so it needs some fixing up.

16, make sure you get the right ones, and dont get any on your neck or hands..wait for that untill your a lot older..you may regret them if you do... Razz

i got my first tattoo when i was 19 of a butterfly on my right shoulder, then 3 months later went to get a lower back piece done with a maple leaf and tribal, and now i am designing my third tattoo at 20, still have 4 more also to go...

i couldnt get what i wanted so the astist designed an original design there and then, with the same priciple (gay pride) based around me! Smile

18 of course..i was dying for the day to come...almost worse than waiting on my drivers liscense
