I am looking to get a tarantula tattoo on my lower back for my first tattoo. I want to get a Theraphosa blondi (Goliath Birdeater) but I want it to be realistic. I've seen a few tarantula tattoos and most tend to look cartoonish but alot look very real and I love those. I'm wondering if anyone knew of a very very talented tattoo artist in Florida that might be able to do this. I'm also wondering if anyone had any ideas for my tattoo. I have the basic idea in my head but pictures definitely help. I'm hoping this isnt too vague. |

Hey!
Well, for pictures and inspiration, you could google pictures.. find a picture of a REAL trantula..
If you're worried about it looking fake/real when the tattoo artist does it, go to a few differentparlors and ask to look at their portfolios...etc. And get an diea of how realistic they can go with animals & so on!.. than from there.. pick your favorite! Or the styles you like more..!! Then bring in your picture.. and they'll help you out (with fill-ins and whatever else you want, if you don't want JUST the trantula) !!
Good Luck!! |

Lucara,
Definitely find a picture of a real one and take it to a good artist that does well with realistic tattoos.
I just uploaded some pictures to the gallery under "Celebrity Tattoos" of Myke Hideous. All his tattoos are insects. Unfortunately, the ones I have don't show any of his spider tattoos, but you'll get the idea. None of them look cartoonish, but very realistic.

so now the question is:- who DOES do his tats?? |

You're welcome!
He lives in New Jersey, but no idea who does them. He's the front man for the Empire Hideous (gothic/industrial band). He's actually somewhat approachable and you could probably contact him via his website and ask him who did them. (Although I will warn you, it often takes quite awhile to hear back from him, as I don't think he's on the computer a whole lot). The website is:
empirehideous.com
(just add the www . to the front)
Good luck! |
