Good morning ladies and gentlemen! I've joined this forum looking specifically to figure out how much money and time a certain design would take (approximately of course). I saw the design on an Affliction t-shirt and thought, with some modifications, it would make a great tattoo!

I have some spare cash coming my way thanks to income tax (gotta love the government!) and I was wondering how much a similar design would cost. Not digging the snake so much though, would probably change it to a traditional japanese dragon. I doubt that would influence the price...

Any info would be appreciated! I'll be trolling around the boards looking for inspiration, ideas, local artists, etc.

Hi Mat, welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, there is really no way for us to give you a cost of any tattoo. The cost can vary greatly depending on where you live (what country, what city, what part of the city, etc), size, placement, how detailed you want it, and mostly what artist will be doing it.

The best suggestion is to find an artist who you admire his/her work and visit with them personally. Only they will be able to give you a good idea of the cost and time involved.

Also, as I always advise - remember you get what you pay for.

Good luck! It's a cool design and could look really sharp with a good artist!

Hey, ya I wasn't expecting much in way of pricing... I know they vary from artist to artist. I was thinking of getting that design (snake replaced by a japanese dragon) wrapping from my chest over my shoulder to my shoulder balde like it is on the shirt. Might be a little too ambitious for my first considering I'm a little tight on cash at the moment. I think the only thing holding me back, besides the financial, is the fact it's somehitng permanent and I don't know if I trust the artists around here to do something so big.... Oh well, I'll keep looking around!
