Why do people vote on pictures but not comment? It makes no sense to me why people feel they have a right to knock a pictures rating down but give no substantial reasoning behind it. Any input would be great...

Welcome to the forum Eric and nice work BTW. Smile

I don't think that a rating that someone else gives a pic is going to affect how the next person likes/dislikes the photo. If I see a photo of a tattoo that I'm just amazed by and see it has a very low rating.... I automaticly assume that the users that voted on the particular photo and rated it low have poor taste. (This may or may not be the case.) The rating system means nothing. No award or prize, it's just there for those who mfeel the need to rate what they see and is all based on personal opinion. After all, most people who have an avid intrest in tattoos are usualy the type of people who don't really care what someone else thinks when it comes to what they like in the way of art. (From what I've seen anyhow.)

I hope this sheds some light on things for you Eric.

Cheers,

Gary.

Thanks bro I just get frustrated by people who just generally don't think before they act. Being a tattoo artist makes me a little less appreciative of those who make it harder in the industry.

I know what you're saying Eric. I don't even post pic's of any of my work. I show clients when they come over for the consultation. The only critics I want are those who I'll be working with. Smile

Thank you tatmans_lady.

I've allway's found that the harshest critics don't have much in the way of tattoos, but do have loads of time and opinions. Most people that are serrious about this art can find the beauty even in the peices that they would never concider wearing. The most basic tattoos can be stunning when done well. Very Happy

Nicely put, Gary. Some of my favorite tattoos that I've seen have been simple designs. Likewise, I've seen some tattoos that seem to have way too much detail, or too busy backgrounds, which seems to take away from it.
