Anyone who is willing to tattoo an underaged individual probably isn't someone you want tattooing you. You would be a wise person if you waited for the time that you choose the artist and not when the artist chooses you.

Someone who takes on this peice is someone who is in desperate need of work. Is this who you want to tattoo you?

I understand what you're asking, but any artist that would take this on and go against the law for a little extra money is a bottom feeder. Is this the type of person you want tattooing you? If one of my children came home tattooed while under age......... I'd be removing the tattoos from that tattooist with a rusty fork just before I caused all of the trouble for him that I could. An artist that would do this is not even the slightest bit respected by his peers in this industry.

You will find someone to tattoo you, but they won't be good and I only hope for your sake that they're at least clean. (These types useualy tend to not be very concerned about the clients health.)

Maybe try a classified ad on a site that's local? By looking here and posting that you're looking to do something that's not allowed by law..... You're dragging this site into you're activity.

How about getting your parents in agreement and have them sign for you if it's so important that it's done now. Some artists will do it with your parents signature.

I hope you make a good choice.

Good luck.

Well legally, at least here in NY, you can't tattoo anyone under the age of 18 with or without the parents consent. I even had had a mom bring in her son and bribe we with **** that I had to turn down (even though she was pretty hot). That story aside, I did tattoo a close friend of mine whose parents I did know. He was 16 at the time and both his parents died in a car accident. He wanted a memorial tat done. Well, for this case I bent the rules a bit and I saw no way I could refuse. This was a rare case, and 99% of the time you should not be tattooing anyone underage. Its looked upon by the courts in a similar fashion as having underage **** with them. So be prepared for the consequences.

I don't know about anyone else, but personally the type of things I would of had tattooed at 16, would not be the type of tattoos I would like to have now.

I would regret not only the designs I would chose at 16, but also possibly the placements.

Also, because of the limited funds I had at 16, I would of "settled" on a lesser tattoo than I would have done as an older adult with more funds.

If I had done my tattoos at 16, I'd be working on cover-ups now. JMHO

I don't think her post was meant to be rude. I started getting tattooed at a young age and just got all my coverups finished recently. I think her post was nothing more than some well meant advise to a younger person. I don't know anyone who is still wearing the tattoos that they got when they were young. (I'm an old guy. Crying or Very sad )

Mutz, if you will read my post you will understand that I was stating why I'm glad *I* did not get a tattoo at 16...I never said anything about you, your plan or your funds.

It was not my intention to mean anything about you - and I still stand by my thoughts on why I'm glad *I* did not get a tattoo at 16, even though I had been wanting one for a long time, too.

You know I really have to agree with everyone else here, I have quite a few tattoos myself, I have always been more mature than most people my age, and I had an idea for my first tattoo since I was 14! over the years I adapted it a little bit here and there but none the less it was the same design. A few months after my 18th birthday I walked into a shop that I was in contact with since I was 16 and got the tat.....a 3 quarter sleeve that is now my least favorite tattoo I have, and still I am working with artists for designs to change and cover it. The best thing I can say is your only 2 years away, thats nothing. I would go into a shop thats got a good rep, show the artist your design and ask if they have any feedback on it, work with them over the next little while so you'll be ready to get something that you will love forever. The mere fact you attacked someone and stated....."I probably make more than you per week" displays your maturity level, there are age restrictions for a reason, its the same as not being able to bribe the government to let us get a drivers license at 13. Trust me, go talk to people in a tattoo shop, ask if they have tattoos they regret, if they do I bet they got them in haste at a young age.
