Hi all! I have been thinking about getting some scars covered up...they're from cuts on my thighs (that's right, both of them; cheating ex-frustration-ugh) and it's not something I'm very proud of. I can't wear shorts or short skirts or anything like that because of those...and I have spoken to a local tattoo artist and he said it could be covered up, the scars may have to be gone over more than once, but it should be possible.
Now, the tattoo I have been thinking of involves a childhood memory of stories my mother would tell me about fairies coming at midnight in the garden where mushrooms and toadstools grow. One day it was pouring and my dad and I were sitting crouched under an umbrella at midnight and waiting for the fairies to show up. I was very, very young of course..lol. I'm nearly 26 now, but that's my favorite memory! :)
But so I have been thinking that the tattoo should portray nighttime in a garden with some mushrooms and such with some fairies with wings, some fairies without wings but with magic wands and two of the fairies portraying me and my closest friend by one fairy wearing a pisces symbol on her body and another one an aquarius. Would 6 or 7 or 8 be too much if it's on both thighs?
The thing is I don't like the color green too much, so that would have to be very little, despite the garden and I need to know if I should just go with one picture on both legs (as in kinda divided in half) or should I get a different one on one thigh like symbolizing my zodiac sign or something? Also, should I just describe exactly this to the tattoo artist or should I know exactly how it should be drawn? I'm no artist myself and I don't know anyone who'd be able to draw this for me.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks so much for reading! :) |

That's a lot of detail to include in the tattoo. I'd choose a person to do the tattoo who is also a good artist in general and tell them your ideas and have them draw up their interpretation, and they can let you know if they can get it all in the design and still look good. You can always make changes to it if you'd like afterwards...a good artist will want to please you and get it like you want it.
As far as continuing the design across two thighs ... I haven't seen that done before, but might be kinda cool looking.
Another design idea that popped up when reading it would be a father and daughter crouched under an umbrella in the garden...you wouldn't have to have all the details, but it still would have a lot of meaning in it.
Be sure to show us what you decide on - sounds like it will be neat no matter which way you go with it! |
