Hello there,
Just a quick question, where do you reckon is the most painful place to get a tattoo done. I've got one on my Ankle and that hurt a fair bit, and i'm getting one on my back in a couple of days, do you think my back will be worse?

Well there is no getting away from the fact that your back is gunna hurt but if it is something you really want then go for it! forget the pain it dosen't last forever but your beautiful tattoo will!

Im working on a tatto that will eventually take up 1/4 of my back on the right side. So far I have gotten my shoulder - mid back section started and that hasn't hurt so far. When Im finally finished this one I can let you know more though.

I hear back is the worst.

Personally I think collar bone, adams apple, fingers, and genitals would all be worse than getting a needle over the spine.

I think that the ankle would hurt more but i guess it depends on where your getting it on your back. I am planning to get one on each side of my ribs and oh boy i can't wait for that pain!

out of all the ones i have had my leg one hurt the most, my back didnt hurt at all and i had it redone xx

really, thats where i had mine done,that hurt quite alot for me plus it kept making my leg shake which didnt help lol but still came out great Smile

I'd have to say my lower back but come to think of it, the tattooist was my friend and I think he did it too deep.. also a leg-shaking-experience!

Ive got tattoos on my arm, tricep, shoulder, calf, back, and one cowskull with the long horn going into my arm pit.....try that bastard. That hurts like hell.....!!!! Under the armpit is fun. Believe me. Hurts like a mother fucker

well, my ankle was my first and i didn't think it much. I got one on my shoulder blade and that hurt more.

But i can't remember what really hurt, none really hurt much.

I have several tatts, from my chest down to the back of my calfs.. and the most pain were the backs of my calfs. (Ihave my groin, upper thighs and pelic area done, that area around my sack and dick was tender, but the most pain, was the backs of my calfs)

Really? I would have imagined that your groin would hurt WAY more than your calf. My Calf didn't hurt at all.

Ive had my back and my ribs done. My back i got done first and it didnt hurt at all.. While on the other hand my ribs hurt alot. But that one also took alot longer and has alot more detail. Yea, your location does play a big roll but i would think the tattoo matters a whole bunch as well.

The most painful place I've had one done is right up on my collarbone. Weirdest tickling/painful sensation ever.

I'd think the ankle would hurt more... but it all depends on your body. People have different pain tolerances in different places and different body shapes allow for that as well.

I've had two tattoos on my back, one at the top and one right at the bottom, the one at the top didnt hurt at all but the one at the bottom got quite sore quite quick... however was nothing in comparison to the one on my stomach!!!

i think you'll be fine with the one on your back cause im willing to bet it wont be as painfull as ur ankle Smile

I got my first tattoo going up my spine. It hurt while they were directly on my spine but it was bearable. Im 5 ft 0 and weigh 100 lbs so there wasn't really any meat...just bone. lol

its different for everybody. I have tats on my inner wrists & they werent bad at all, but some of my friends have em in the same place & they said it hurt like hell! I have a tribal piece on my stomach & I wouldnt get it done again for all the tea in China!!!!

The stomach sucked ass, but nothing compares to the inside of the wrists. Now that was pain...

so many people with so many different experiences and tolerances of pain. weird how the same place can be agony for one and completely bearable for the other. there must be a scientific paper in there somewhere... if any one can be bothered...

my back hurt like hell a memorial 3.5 job as be back was done will sitting on chair.
Id say it would be better lying on my stomach be les painfull.

every1 is diffrent i guess but i found that most people find the ribs, feet, shin and elbow the most painfull. had 1 dude jump b4 i touched him with the needle when i was doing his ribs. when i got the outline of my aztec dragon done on the back of my calf it spun me out, i didnt think it would hurt so much it was 2nd most painful tattoo 4 me specialy when he hit the teadon the 1st most painful 4 me would have 2 b the inside of my foot near the the arch. but then again the pain is half the fun lol
