Hey Everyone!!!!

I've got my mind set on a new tattoo but would like some help with ideas. Let me just start at explaining what I'm planning on. I'd like a 1/4 or 1/2 sleeve in the Asian style. I'd like mostly black and grey with some color. I was thinking of a dragon or snake weaving in and out of some bamboo. On the inside of my arm I wanted some Chinese/Japanese characters with a meaninful saying or words.

Now here is my question:
1. Are there any things in the Japanese/Chinese culture that symbolize family? I'm really close wth my family and they actually had a tough time this year.

Thanks. Although I can't seem to see the picture you posted. I've noticed this on other posts. People will be talking about a picture but I can't see it.

Anyway, I was thinking of an actual "thing" that is a part of the tattoo. Like bamboo symbolizes strength and flexibility, Tigers sybmolize self confidence, etc.....
