hello- I am conducting a survey for my STATS class. I am surveying the number of tattoos a person has and how many criminal offenses they have. Criminal offenses includes parking tickets, speeding tickets, just being pulled over, tickets issued from accidents........... I will start it out with my info so noone feels shy. Thanks for the help.
# of tattoos : 8 # of criminal offenses: 15 |

Welcome to the forum ink8.
Sorry, but parking tickets, speeding tickets, just being pulled over and tickets issued from accidents do not equal criminal offences. Yous stats would be misleading and lead people to believe those who wear tattoos are criminals. |

| I am taking an intro to stats class and i only have 5 days to collect the data so thats why my info is so broad. Also I needed some larger numbers to work with which is why I am including all run ins with the law. I am not asking anyone to critique my stats project just to answer what is there. i would really appreciate it if people could please take this seriously. Also i am not trying to prove that people who have tattoos have more conatct with the law but that untattooed people have just as many and thus far I am proving that. |

I wont answer this because it gives the reflection that people with tattoos automatically have been in trouble.
I hate stereotyping! |

What have tattoos got to do with criminality. Why don't you study something useful like the theft of tissues by people with very runny noses How dare you come on to our forum and insinuate that tattoos are only worn by criminals. |

I would help you out with some stats, but I can't get access to my record untill I'm released from prison next year.
Want to just give me your address and I'll send you the info soon as I get out? |

You are going to upset a lot of people with this type of question. I have 13 tattoos, no record and only 1 traffic violation in 12 years and a bachelor degree in business; BTW I’m a tattoo artist and day trader. Do you have a spot in your survey for those kinds of tattoo related statistics?
Most customers are great people, they are the reason it’s an enjoyable business. For the most part I would say the people who have tattoos have no or a sparse criminal record. Your question alone is offensive because of its ignorant implication that tattoos are somehow related to criminal activity. This is a very old stereotype that we in the tattoo business have spent years trying to get away from. Then here you come all mouth, little brains and obviously a lot prejudice.
Here is another good topic for you. Your question is no different the asking how many people of minority DON’T go to jail? Yet you feel it's ok to ask a similar question of the tattoo community.
Here is a more constructive idea, why don’t you do a survey on who has tattoos? If you do that you will find out what I’m talking about first hand. However, you better be ready because every class of person has them. If you did take your time you could shock people with a constructive paper instead of a prejudice one.
Be part of the solution not the problem. |

I dun believe everyone who has a tattoo is a criminal.
Man, if it's really true, i think the jail cells have no enough room for everyone..
Tattoo is a piece of body art. Please do not destroy a master piece or associate it with crimes.. Just aint the same thing. |

that really ruffles my feathers. I am in a field where i have to wear long sleeves b/c of my tats. i recently had a customer say i was a real stand up guy then she made the comment " I bet you don't drink, smoke or have any tattoos." i laughed and pulled my sleeves up and she was shocked. my comment to her " you can't judge a book by its cover, and no i have never been to jail heck never had a run in with the law" all she could say was i am sorry. i forave her ignorance but dang it i am tired of the stereotypes |
