thanks to dickyknee i've finally managed to upload pictures to my gallery of my tattoo. they're from during and just after the event which is about 10 days ago now. its healing up nicely - just 3 or 4 very small scabs left to drop off (then i can take off the boxing gloves which stop me picking at them... Rolling Eyes

)

once its all looking lovely i'll post up better pics...

then i'll go and get it retouched in a few places.

have a peek and give me some feedback if you like.

Solar swystem map of some type with a satalite would be my guess.

you're kind of close...ish, gary.

its the pioneer 10 probe launched by NASA in 1972 with a mission to explore jupiter closely for the first time and then to carry on into deep space. it carries aboard it an etched plaque to serve as a greeting to any intelligent beings that may one day stumble across it (it will reach the nearest star systems in about 200,000 years). the lines in the tattoo are a map of where we are in relation to 14 pulsars which is included on the plaque. until about 4 years ago it was the human built object furthest away from the earth until the faster voyager overtook it, even though it is heading in the opposite direction.

it has a whole bunch of meanings for me and is the first of a series i have planned.
