I kinda have two questions...
I got my tattoo done on Friday (2 days ago) and I already have some scabs (quite small ones) I didn't think scabs formed until the third or fourth day?
Plus, I was advised to use savlon but I've heard from some people that it didn't work well on them. So basically have you been advised to use savlon and its been rubbish, or has it worked well?
Just nervous cos this is my first
Any help appreciated though! |

I use Bepanthen as well (I think I am addicted to the smell now as well LOL).
When I was in the chemist buying my cream, there was a lady in the chemist with some fresh ink on her back buying Savlon for her fresh tattoo as well. We chatted for a bit and she told me she has used Savlon on 2 other tattoos with no drama's and her artist recommends it, so it can't be all bad.
Good luck. |

im a tattoo artist, and i recommend to my clients to use neosporin or such for the first 1-2 days, and then an expensive NON-PERFUMED MOISTERIZING lotion like Lubriderm. for the next week. the neosprorin prevents dirt and bacteria from entering by sealing the wound, while providing an antibacterial. the lotion will keep it moisterized, and prevent heavy scabbing. it will peel like a sunburn, usually in the shower when healed, for me and most people its 5 days for black and 7 days for colors. dont know why colors take longer but use the lubriderm moderately several times a day, but use any petroleum based jelly very sparingly, only 2-3 times a day. |

Well, my tattoo is healing very well. The colour still looks great (I was worried about it fading too much)
The savlon didn't seem to cause any damage anyway! |
