I am obsessed in my pet ferret, moreso than my tattoos. She is really funny and cute and my baby hehe. Ive had her for 17 months the end of March. I got a tattoo in dedication to her.
Being a Uni student, she really keeps me company during campus time - I'm not like, saying 'i'm so smart i'm a student blah blah', i friggin hate being away from home and being at uni - i can't wait to finish! So my ferret is my family. And she means the world to me.
Wanna discuss your pets? How much do they bring to your life? |

haha, cool.
I love dogs too but our is really really crazy - she is a whippet. I prefer quieter animals as dogs can be, well, too silly and knock things over and leave mud on you. But i'm sure i would love a dog of my own when i have my own house and everything as it will be like, well, my own |

I'm sorry to hear about your dog Our dog before our current one also had lymphoma and so did many of my pet rats - its just horrible. The dog we put down after a year of having it, it totally wrecked her jaw so we had to put her down as she could no longer eat.
I have a rainbow lorikeet (okay we have three pets altogether a dog, my ferret who comes to uni with me, and my lorikeet).
His name is Jye and he is an avairy bird, but he is sort of tame And my ferret is called Fifi and the dog Caz. |

I love my animals more than people which my boyfriend got offended about when i told him my dog was more important than him So that's why I'm going to do equine nursing at TAFE next year.
I have a big old black lab that's built like a rottwheiler which is odd cos he's purebred, my little sis has a sydney silky cross shitzu (i don't like small dogs but he thinks he's a big black dog 2!) and we have 2 kittens and 4 horses. I'm dying 4 a bull terrier pup but my mum said i hav to move out first. I told her if she didn't let me get 1 I'd go out and get pregnant instead but it didn't work joke!
And my friends ferret went down my shirt and bit me on the boob and made me bleed so i'm not too crazy bout ferrets but they are cute. |

Sorry to hear about you dog and rats liz. Its so sad when one of youre pet dies its like loosing one of your famly. I used to breed hamsters for a pet shop until they decided they had got enough stock and left me with 30 baby hamsters. I was over run with 30 cages to clean regually lol. hamsters can only be housed seperatly when they grow up so they have to have a cage each. It was a nightmare at times but i loved them all. but they dont live much longer than a couple of years. I broke my heart as each one died
ouch jaque very painful place to get bit. my brother has a big black lab he is like a big softy bear so lovable |

Thanx can`t wait to see some foto`s of your garden , we have also fuchsia`s, with the little flowers, and we`ve put some bamboo in.
The garden is not so big , but because we have a clear sight (no buildings)
from our garden, it looks bigger. |

(sorry i'm gonna talk about pets again, but my fav. gardens are native ones - Australian in my case).
Well, since I was 13 I had rats. If you never had them they seem like a weird thing to have and breed (like ferrets i think). I bought some pure bred rats ('fancy' rats) from Queensland from a breeder and then bred them. So I bred them from 1998 to 2005. They make wonderful loyal pets and are very gentle! And they are very clean, you can have exquisite houses for them and only have to wash them out once/twice a week. They can be litter trained too! And never pee on you!
Then I decided to no longer have them because of the cancers and also because in Tasmanian weather they get respiratory infections in the lungs during winter.
So I got a ferret and she is like a small cat. She has three different cages (depending on the weather), she eats meat and lactose free milk, and some special ferret/premium cat foods. She walks on a lead, she doesn't chew wires (like rats), she can be trusted to walk around the house alone (though she does get into mischeif!). She is litter pan trained.
The best thing about ferrets (and rats) is out on the market you can get very cute accessories for their cages, like ferret sleeping bags, hammocks, sleeping sacks, tunnells etc.
I asked my Mum to go to a pet store when she goes to Birmingham - do any of you know much about Birmingham in the UK? Does it have a large pet shop? As i imagine there to be a better variety of animal accessories!
In May to July what is the UK like? |

oooh ouch Jaque I just read your ferret experience. . . i missed it before. Ferret bites are very hurtful, they don't let go. . . Ive had a rat bite my boob. And my ferret loves to crawl down my shirts for some reason, (prolly coz its warm). . .
Looks CAN be deceiving My girl Phoenix (called Fifi mostly or Phoenix Mystery) can be a little cheeky and will bite my sister (and I don't know why because Carly used to carry her around so much when Fifi was a baby). But being only 'my' ferret she never has bitten me, she'll grab my wrist and try and play with her sharp teeth, but she won't be mean to me. And she loves new people, so gentle. Oh she did bite me the day i got her, as she is from working stock. She's just learnt to hiss during play its a sight to behold!
I wrestle her when it comes to cutting her claws as she hates it, she'll scratch my hands but won't bite.
Yes I love her like my child. I think we naturally do that until its time we have REAL kids haha.
I'm still under my parents wings, though I'm at Uni. I work only on weekends. I would love a rotti, I love 'powerful' animals. Also american bulldog or pitt bull terrier. I love the aura they assume.
I often have used the 'go and get pregnant' thing when i want something, like a tattoo and mum goes, "well its your body." she just doesn't stop me anymore. But with pets, well we'd all like a puppy and mums will always say no! |
