I went out to an artist that everyone told me was awesome. I don't really like the idea of copy-cat work so I went with my own artwork and told him what I wanted and how I wanted it. when He finished it looked like Crap I hated it. It was one of my first and now I don't know what to cover it with. It was supposed to be a pentacle with the elemental colors in it. Instead it looks like a pinwheel that was never finished. The guy didn't even put the outer circle on it!!

I was stupid enough to believe him when he told me that the colors would blend and that without the outer circle the colors would spread out.

Any way I was foolish and now I know better. It is on the top of my foot and is about 3.5 in all together. What I would like to know is can I cover it with other colors or do I have to have Black?

Thank You In Advance. Very Happy

I really do appreciate your help with this.

I feel like a complete idiot for walking out of the shop with this on my foot and believing the crap he fed me about the colors blending. None of my others did. Shocked
Thanks again

Tied Angel, it's pretty dark and might be hard to cover...

If you are wanting the outter circle added, that should be easy. Some of the colors look like they could be touched up (unless it's just the flash - or if they are not supposed to be very solid...maybe that's the effect you were going for?). If you wanted them touched up, that should be fairly easy, too.

I would go into somewhere that you trust and show them the tattoo and tell them what you like and don't like about it and see what they say.

That's just it. I don't like any of it. I know I sound like a petulant child but I was misinformed. I was told that the colors would blend and no the colors faded. I haven't had it for 8 months and the colors are fading. I don't know what to do. I have tried everything I can think of and most want to make it into a whole foot and ankle piece and I don't have any problem with that it's just that I don't know if I should trust anyone out here to do it. I know I shouldn't judge all of the artists in my area because of this one jerk, but I'm not sure what I am suposed to be looking for when I go to a shop. All of my other ink was done by friends of friends who had to show that they were qualified to work in a shop. I don't know what to look for and I really don't want to have to go through this again.

So I guess my question now is:

How do I find a reliable shop/artist and what do I look for before I let them work on me?

Embarassed Sounds kind of stupid now that I look at it but if I don't ask I won't know what I should do. Most of my friends don't have any ink done and those who do go to their friends. I left that area and now I don't know anyone out here who can help me. Crying or Very sad

It's almost enough to make me give it up.......Almost. Confused

Thank You again
Ty

go and speak to people in your area with tattoos..most tattooed people will always talk to another tattoo lover..
ask them where they got theirs from and look at theirs..
ask for advice, nothing better than someone actually seeing the real deal rather than a picture.
good luck..
it does look rather nasty...
