I spent about 5 hours today trying to find a place to get a tattoo on my wrist that says DOLOR HIC TIBI PRODERIT OLIM

Not a single person would do it for me on 2 separate lines on my wrist because it would get muddy and blurry in the future. This is from about 5 authorities, the internet says no smaller than a half inch per letter and a quarter inch with easier font. Is that for height or width or both??? I have mine a quarter inch per letter going across the arm instead since I couldn't get it on the wrist without it wrapping around or on 3 separate lines. No big deal.

Then I see this..

Second photo on the page. Some chick got a way smaller font than about 10 people told me today I should get. Is she an exception? Tell me her ish is gonna get all blurry and that I didn't get boned today.

this one as well

Thanks for reading.

As an artist I would do it for you, as long as you understood that it will probably fade and such...

I have tattoos on my wrists...the important thing to remember is it could but SHOULDNT go where your wrist creases...the ink will bleed out very quickly...

If I were able to see it in person id be able to give you more advice

Giday Bud. I would take into consideration your age, and if you were already moderately tattooed on your arms. They are right when they told you the lettering will blow out and distort with time. Nothing that cannot be covered at a later date anyhow. Good luck mate Wink

Another thing to consider is that some artists are not very confident with lettering - which can take a different type of skill than other types of tattoos. I know some that are wonderful with lettering, and others who shy away from it at all costs when possible. It's very easy to get a blow-out or uneven widths when doing nothing but fine linework for those who are not confident in doing so. Just an idea why some would not want to do it.

If you went to several people in a short amount of time, it makes me think that you went from shop to shop without really becoming familiar with the artists. Instead, I would recommend checking out portfolios (many are available on-line now-a-days) and see who has a lot of lettering in their work. Also, when you see people with nice lettering, ask them who did their work - most people I know with tattoos love talking about them!

Good luck!
