Do any of you have a tattoo that you got to remind you of something or someone and it just doesn't do anything for you anymore? Just wondering because I'm thinking about getting a tattoo to remind me that life is simple and to keep my mind simple but I'm also worried that it will only help me for a few months and I'll forget about it.

I have 14 tats and each one of them mean as much to me as the day I got them. If nothing else a tattoo that is thought out, not gotten on a whim, will always bring you back to the time in your life that you got it. Even if it was a bad time in your life it will make you appreciate where you have gotten to or what you have accomplished. If it was a good time in your life it will be fond memories that will make you smile even if for a moment. I feel any tattoo that you give thought to is a thing to cherish.

Ed is bang on. If it really means that much to you now, it will have meaning forever. Every time you look at it you will be reminded why you got it. Every time someone asks you about it, and you explain it to them, you will be reminded why you got it. But like Ed said, tattoos gotten on a whim are likely to be something you regret later on. Think before you ink, I always say. |

My new one that I've started on is a portrait of my 2 dogs. My parents recently moved to Vancouver just before I turned 18 and I stayed behind in Winnipeg with my boyfriend and son. My apartment did not allow dogs so my parents took my two dogs with them. My older dog, a Boston Terrior, has now gone blind in one eye and Im not sure I will be able to see her again before she passes away, so I decided to get her tattooed on my back so that she will always be with me, even when she is not. All my tattoos have meanings and are all important to me, but that one at the moment is one that has the most meaning for me.

well i have seven tattoos: tribal on my foot, shooting stars on my belly, rose on my right boob, 'MUM' on my right boob, 'blessed' wrote on my wrist, 'destiny' on my neck and 'two hearts beat as one' on my higher back. Well i think that you getting a tattoo to remind you to keep a simple mind is a really good idea. You won't just forget about it and it will continue to help you whenever you need to reasure yourself. When i'm down i always look at my 'mum' tattoo to remind me that there is one person that will always love me regardless, when i'm lost i look at my rose becuase i had it done in memory of my nan when she died and when i feel happy i loke at my 'blessed' tattoo because i'm blessed just to be here. And the destiny on my neck is a constant reminder all the time, like is already mapped out by each of our destiny's so just take a step back sometime because like is simple in many ways!
