On Polynesian Tattoo News (I'm a big fan of tribal designs!), there's this fairly new web site. Maybe some of you have already heard about it, but for those of you who haven't and are interested in knowing about the meaning of any tribal (Polynesian) tattoo design, i strongly recommend this site to you.
It's this whole online dictionary where you can look up different designs and find their meanings and you can also look up a theme you'd like your tattoo to represent and it tells you what designs you can choose to represent it. There's also a section about what each part of the body means (in the Polynesian culture) where you want to have your tattoo done. I was quite impressed as i hadn't found anything like it before.

I was having some trouble trying to find the exact design to represent success, peace and bonds of friendship all in one tattoo, and it gave me some pretty good and precise ideas. I just need to find the right tattooist to help me finalize it and get it right.
If you guys know of another more complete info type site on Polynesian tattoo, let me know! I'm interested.

hi, can you tell me the website. I have apolynesian running down my left arm and would like something on my right.

It would be very interesting to know the meanings too.

Hi, sorry, i haven't checked this forum in a while. The site i was talking about is called tahititatou. This forum doesn't let me post the link to it. But if you google "tribal tattoo dictionary", it's the first site that pops up in the results.
I'm sure you'll find the answer to most questions you have about polynesian designs.
