Hi,
I got my tattoo done 8/28/2008. The ink is now bleeding into other parts of my skin and there are several "pits" in the design. There was several deep scabs and even aportion that was infected. I know that infection can sometimes occur, but with the bleeding of the ink, the cloudliness of how the tattoo is now I wanted to know if my skin was overworked. I went to another shop (other than where the work was done) and that artist told me that is was over worked and too deep. I have been treated for the infection, but now I am wondering if my tattoo was done incorrectly because of the bleeding of the ink, the cloudiness and the pits that devolped (which were not in the affected area). I have read that the signs of the tat being done too deep was the ink bleeding into other areas and that the open wounds cloudiness and heavy scabs are caused from over working the skin. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Bleeding colors are always a sign for going too deep, pitting is always a sign of both, too deep and overworking, the cloudiness might be a layer of dead skin that developped during the healing cycle and the scabbing.Scabbing is also a sign of overworking or the customer not taking care of the tattoo properly, like letting it dry out or using the wrong aftercare procedures or product.
Lets clear up a myth here once and for all....
A PROPERLY EXECUTED TATTOO DOES NOT SCAB AT ALL OR ONLY VERY LITTLE........
Once the cloudiness is gone and the tattoo is completely healed, you can let an experienced, experienced, experienced tattoo artist take a look, redo it or cover it up.The scars and bumps in it are not going away, but if the rework is done nicely and correctly,it schould look nice.
