Hello everyone!

I was browsing for (through google) popular tattoo forums so I could join a few, for the purpose of learning as much as I can about tattooing before I open a tattoo shop.

My plan is to open my own tattoo shop in April 2010.

Thus far I have received certification from ARC for bloodbourne pathogens (preventing disease transmissions). and I have purchased aproximately $6,000 in equipment, so I will have everything I need to open my shop.

I have a degree in fine arts from Ohio State, and went to the New York School of design.

I am not worried about whether I will be able to do tattoos, as I am pretty confident. I have done 5 thus far (all on myself, and 1 on my brother. I just completed the outline of a Chinese dragon and tiger on my left forearm. My wife held my arm for me to stretch the skin. Thus far it has turned out pretty decent.

Hopefully by April I will have found the inks that I like best. I have tried quite a few of them (doing tests on my calf). Right now I like intenze for white, and starbrite for red & Yellow. No real preferences on the others yet.

Anywho...

I am open to any and all suggestions, and any information that anyone can give me that will assist me in being a great tattooist, will be much appreciated.

I am mostly interested in doing portraits, biomech, and anything else that requires a lot of detail, and is unique, as I prefer to do my own designs, as opposed to copying someone else's.

Well, I hope to talk to all of you soon.

Heath

PS: You can E-Mail me anytime you like, as long as it has to do with tattooing, or something else that we have previously discussed. Otherwise, don't waste your time, or mine. Smile
