This is just a general question to tattoo artists, shop owners, and anyone who has ideas/opinions.
What kind of technologies (websites, computer software, printing/scanning, etc.) would be helpful in expanding either marketing or efficiency for a shop? What kind of things are already in place that seem to work well?
I have a vague idea of how tattoo shops are run, but I would like to know more. I am very interested in the art of tattoos, and the process, but sadly my art skills are minimal. I want to find out what other things go into a successful business, and see if I can help.

So have at it! Let me know what you think. What you've seen work and not work

Ok, well to maybe start something off, here is something that I have heard on another forum.

One suggestion was to have a monitor displaying tattoos that customers could choose and easily print out the stencil to be applied.

Do you think this would be a benefit to the artists? Or would it take away from the originality of creating the stencil? (I'm not exactly sure what the common procedure is for getting a line drawing from a full color piece?)

And if it were to just print out a very simple form of the stencil, would that allow more room for the artist to make changes based on each individual case?

I'm just trying to get the discussion going. Any other ideas would still be great.

computer generated art is still art, and the artist still has to do the work by hand. so it depends on the artist i suppose?.
