I've been planning my first tattoo for at least two maybe three years. I'm starting to feel like it's time to finally get it. There's a whole lot of meaning behind it.
How long does it take to plan your tattoo, and do you regret any tattoos?
Also do you think that people are more likely to regret tattoos that don't have any meaning to them? |

Hi. Definately tattoos with meaning are very popular. Kids names, portraits, etc. Good on you for sitting it out til you are ready. Tattoos are mostly quite an impulsive decision by most. I do not regret any i have obtained over the years, thanks to careful planning.
Take as long as you like to plan it and arrange a booking with a good artist and go discuss your options. Price, design, whereyou want it placed etc.
They are extremely addictive! No duobt will be the start of many. Good luck to you |

| I have never thought about it. I will say I was in my 30s before I got my first one. In the army all my buddies were getting inked but I didnt want one. I think its how you change in life that brings out different forms of self expression. I just did a wolf piece on a guy that is 52 and his first ink. My mom was 74 when she got her first ink a butterfly on her ankle. |

My first tattoo was planned maybe two moths before I got it.
Most of my tattoos have meaning or I liked the design so much that I decided to get it on me...
I dont have any regrets tattoo wise...piercing wise is a different story tho...
Youll know when its time to get it...when you are find a shop look at portfolios and when you find the right artist work it out for a date and time
Good Luck |

I've got about 10 tats on me.
Most I've done on myself. ...but I'm guilty of getting some flash & dash at some motorcycle rallys,.......and I've got some with deep meaning to me. I don't regret any of them,..because as I see it,..the all map the progression of time through my life,...or a place I was(mentally or literally) at a certain point in life. I've got some that are just cool bits of flash i liked(skulls,..etc)...and I've got others that have a significant meaning only to me.
I can appreciate a story behind some ink as well as anybody,..but didn't we ALL get into this at some point by thinking "gee- that looks cool"
I think most people want their first tat simply for the "gee-that looks cool,..or badass" effect,....whether or not we readily admit it. lmao......then that starts a further, deeper kinship to the ink |
