Hi all

I was wandering the type of art that is generally studied by tattoo artists.

I realise there is a wide range to be studied, but what are the main foundations for every artist?

I have been to art classes and got the foundations of drawing, but I would like to start making designs, just not too sure where to start.

Also any advice on what the limitations are with tattooing, i.e. I know that what can be done on paper can not always be done on skin.

I am not looking to learn how to tattoo. I'm really more interested in creating designs that could be tattooed by professionals.

Can anyone offer advice on sites, books, artists etc to help me get started?

Check out a couple of flash sites like tattoodles and pick up a bunch of tattoo magazines.

That should get ya started.
