| i have a tattoo on my chest that i am getting removed via laser. qswitch nd:yag laser, which i have noticed can be used for hair removal as well?(correct me if im wrong) but when i get my tat removed will i have a bald patch with no hair where the tattoo was? |

Short answer - yes.
A lot depends on your hair color.
Blonde = maybe not
Black - yes -
laser does not "absorb"
well on light colored hair.

| The Nd:YAG laser that they're using for your tattoo removal is different than the kind they use for hair removal. The tattoo removal one is "q-switched" and the hair removal one is "long-pulse." The q-switched one doesn't get down into the follicle well and results in only temporary hair removal. If you used a long-pulse on on the tattoo it would automatically create a burn. |
