Thought this was a tattoo site, now I'm not sure what the hell I got myself into here, we are not allowed to post tattoo pics showing any nudity but there are videos and grandma's sucking off men!!! Oh and don't forget the loan we can get!!! What's up with all of that?????? |

| Calm down bud. It will get taken care of. The Mods do a pretty good job keeping all this crap to a minimum. They just cant sit at the screen every second of the day. |

| I understand that someone can't sit at the computer and monitor all day, it's just that I have never seen that on other forums. Sorry to freak out but jezz. I just join and then I see that junk!! Considering that there are younger people on here.....Anyway....It seems like a really cool forum here and that there is a fairly good atmosphere, I was just surprised is all. |

Thanks ed.
addictedtoink,
It's one curse that we have. Most can just read the thread title ande just not bother clicking on it. Once you've been here and at some other tattoo forums on the net, you'll see that it's a great place to come and relax even with the spam. There are mod's in different time zones to cover things fairly well. The spam gets removed more often than you might think.
I'm moving this out of tattoo discussion and into the feedback forum.
Thanks,
Gary. |

the best way to deal with it is to ban the email from registering in the first place, the biggest offender is gmail, if you go to the admin control panel and go to the ban control, put in the part of the email after the @, so it will be gmail.com or what ever and anyone signing up with a gmail addy will be refused. bit of a bummer for genuine people but if it was stated in a disclaimer that gmail or whatever is the main offending email addy, people would understand and signup with another email.
all the spam is auto, done with bots, they wont sign up with another email.
hope this helps, as you guys reall have a big spam problem here.
nice site btw, will be posting soon once ive had a good lurk and find my feet. |

I've gotten used to just ignoring it. I see it getting removed all day/night long and the mods are doing a great job.
Not sure if this is an option on this forum, but other forums I have been on had the first post of every new user "approved" before it posted. This seemed to handle a big part of it, as the spammers usually register and only send the one post. The posts would get deleted before hitting the board, and if any of them did try to repost, it would still show up as their first post, so again it would go to mods to be approved (and deleted) again.
It's a pain for those who need their first post answered, but any new person's first post should be an introduction instead of a question anyway, in my opinion. When registering, it explained that their first post would be approved shortly.
Just an idea |
