All you first timers here how bad did your tattoo look before it healed n looked normal? Did any of you have to go back to the artist for a redo on any of your tattoo after it healed? I am wondering if i will have to go back n have some spots redone on mine. Hope alls good with mine in the end.

I actually just came from a touchup on my first tattoo!

My tattoo didn't scab and healed really well. I credit that to the aftercare. I do bleed a lot, which is why I got a touchup. It was free and the artist was just as great as the first time. I waited a month after getting the tattoo to go back.

I'm told that a lot of people have to go back and get touchups. It happens. Just don't wait forever! A reputable shop will usually give you a free touchup, but not a year later!

heh.. My first tattoo was a celtic band around my right bicep and while it didn't look too bad while healing it did afterwards. I made the mistake of not making sure that the guy doing the tattoo had any experience with knotwork and to round things off all of this was done in his kitchen(perhaps a warning sign Rolling Eyes )
I had that redone at one of my town's more skilled artists and have been pleased with it ever since.
