Hey,
I just got my first tattoo this past Friday while I was in Istanbul, Turkey, along with a friend of mine.
While I was having it done, the guy said that my skin was a bit "difficult" and wasn't wanting to take the ink..
I figured all would be well, because my friend's looked great---and still does--- but my ink is already gone in some places, fading in others, and I feel that it's getting worse by the day. I've been taking care of my tattoo the way he told me to..
I don't know what to do! I don't know any info about getting touchups, or how long I need to wait before getting one.
Also, why is this happening? Was it the tattoo artist's fault, or is it just my skin?
Please help! I'm so concerned! |

| sounds a bit dubious to me i would suggest that you visit a good artist and have a chat with them. |

| I agree you should visit another artist in your area. It is true tht some skin is harder then others to tattoo but a good artist makes adjustments and you should still have a good tattoo in the end. |

alright, thanks.
But what a bummer!
Today it's worse than ever and I'm so disappointed.
But I'll try and find a good artist in the area.
Thanks. |

A friend of mine has the same complaint. But his is due to the medicastion he's on. For some reason it wont tolarate ink in his skin. What he done was got a few lines done on him and within a couple of weeks there was no visible lines left. So he now has said stuff getting a tattoo as it just wont last.
And apparently your body may be one that is like that even if you are not on any medication. As there are people out there who just can not get tattoo's as their bodies will reject the ink. No I'm not a doctor but this is what he told me and that is what his doctor told him.
So I don't know if it has helped but i thought it was worth telling you about. |

| It's also possible he didn't get the ink in deep enough. I agree with the others in visiting a reputable local artist. |

Im not sure if this is your problem or not, But I went to tattoo a lady and the ink would not take worth a crap, im not sure if she was on some sort of medicine or what, but i would ink it then it would come right off......I re-tattooed her a couple weeks ago and it took slightly better, but she is gonna need a touch up. I think jsut some peoples body rejects ink differently than others. I would try another artist though personally |

| ink doesnt ever "not take" unless the tattoo artist is holding the machine too far up, thus not allowing the ink to stay in the ideal layer of skin. in short, you just got a shitty tattoo from a bad artist. go to yahoo and find a tattoo shop with a reputation, tattoo artists fix other peoples fuck ups all the time. they are used to it. oh and post some pictures! |

I can see that you've only ever been on the recieving end of a tattoo. There are some cases where things don't turn out right for any number of reasons. You're making assumptions without knowing the client, artist, aftercare or the process of tattooing.
Also, yahoo isn't the miracle fix either. There is no substitute for going from shop to shop and looking at portfolios or asking others that you come across where they go. (If you like the work you see on them.) |
